The Barny Week Ahead

The Barny Week Ahead

Steven Screech15 Dec 2025 - 08:50

Things to take note of

That was quite a week of cup action.
Firstly we make it through to the Semi Finals of the Torridge Cup after a hard slog down at Mill Road on Tuesday night and then on Saturday an epic victory down at Buckland sees us progress into the final 32 of the F.A Vase and leaves us facing the next round at home on 17th January against AFC Stoneham. Equalling our best ever run in this prestigious competition.
But we don't want to stop there of course, our sights are firmly set on that Wembley Arch.
The only downside was seeing Luke Mortimore stretchered off with a badly gashed leg and we wish Luke all the best and hope to see him back banging in the goals again soon.
How the referee and his assistants missed that one right under their noses is quite the mystery.

The week ahead football-wise is quiet although the U18's are due to play away at Cullompton next Sunday with a 2pm KO

Elsewhere we are offering half season season tickets now. 10 home games at the cost of £60, quite the bargain. Contact screech@btinternet.com to make that happen but you've only got until Christmas Day for that so chop chop Santa.

A big thanks to everybody who travelled down to Buckland on Saturday no matter how you made it down. The coach travel managed to raise £280 for Riley Malin and family which is a fine effort, thank you.

Up the Barum everybody. If we keep pulling together the way we have this season there's no end to what we can achieve.
A few stats for you to end this update...
We lost 3 of our opening 5 fixtures but in the following 25 games we have only lost 3 more.
We have now won 8 games on the spin and have only lost once in the last 16 games.
We have at least 21 games left this season.
We have conceded 32 goals in 30 games but have scored 83 times.
